To launch the latest iteration of luxury Italian design powerhouse Minotti's 2025 collection, Australian design retailers dedece transformed a portion of their showroom into a midcentury living space using Laminex’s Classic Flat Wall Panels to create an immersive space emphasising the collection’s California meets Milan style.
The dedicated space, rendered with Laminex Architectural Classic Flat Wall Panel in Spotted Gum, was inspired by the living rooms of the midcentury modern style, to echo the design choices of the Minotti pieces in the space from designer Giampiero Tagliaferri. An architectural and interior designer with studios in Los Angeles and Milan, Tagliaferri is known for his distinctive aesthetic approach that merges 20th century Italian design with that of Southern California modernism.
Tagliaferri reinterprets classic forms through a contemporary lens, creating a distinctive silhouette defined by overlapping rounded volumes that draw clear inspiration from the 1960s and 70s. The influence of 20th-century modernism is evident in the soft forms and the refined, couture-inspired details.
“The 2025 Collection marks a new chapter in Minotti’s design journey, offering fresh perspectives while remaining rooted in its signature elegance,” says Tim Engelen, founder of dedece, which has welcomed the new range to its curated line-up of global design luminaries. “The Laminex Woodgrain finishes were a great way to bring this part of the collection to life.”
dedece designed this space around Laminex Classic Flat Wall Panels from the outset, using them as the anchor to tie the showroom and its curated pieces together. The result is a space of clean lines, deliberate materials, and warm nostalgia for the midcentury living rooms of many. It’s a direct, functional environment that respects the craftsmanship on show and presents it in a way that feels relevant to an Australian audience today.
Its mid-century lineage gives the room a definitive architectural clarity, anchoring Minotti’s precision-built forms without competing for attention. The grain’s natural variation introduces enough natural texture to give the Italian pieces a grounded Australian edge.
The Classic Flat profile offers a modern reversible panel tailored to your space, allowing you to achieve two looks within one panel. As seen below, the panels can alternate between a subtle 1mm Pencil Line Joint and 7mm Express Joint. The Minotti installation demonstrates how one panel can deliver two distinct aesthetics—giving designers and specifiers greater creative freedom with every installation.
