Kokomo City Hall

Project: Kokomo City Hall

Location: Indiana, United States of America

Background: Kokomo City Hall, built in 1981, recently underwent internal renovations to parallel its function and use. The renovations were for the public mezzanine, council chambers, private offices and large conference room.

Challenge: Mawr Design was appointed to produce an attractive yet functional fit-out. The architectural and interior design firm was to capitalise on the building’s minimalist features, while playing on its structural details.

Results: Mawr Design chose Formica 180fx in Travertine Silver* to resurface the existing superbly presented curved desk in the council chambers – a clear stand out in this space. The Travertine Silver look was themed throughout and used on columns and wall panelling. Using Formica180fx, Mawr Design was able to adhere to the project budget and produce an incredible design statement.

* Formica 180fx in Travertine Silver is available in the Australian market as Laminex 180fx in Silver Travertine.
